I took a much-needed vacation last week. It was one of those vacations where you stay home and have no real agenda. I had a few goals and things I wanted to accomplish, sure, but most of all I wanted to relax — and relax I did. It was truly fabulous!
However, without the routine of getting up in the morning, hitting the gym and heading to work, my schedule was thrown off considerably, and my goal to maintain through the holiday was a bit shaky. That paired with the fact that I hosted my family for Turkey Day meant not only being off routine and anxious about making the holiday special for my family but also having leftovers in the house!
I am a complete creature of habit and I totally struggle when my routine is out of whack. However, I also know better than anyone that routines are easily sabotaged when schedules get hectic. So why can’t I keep it together when my routine is thrown off kilter? The holidays are an especially easy time for our schedules to be disrupted with all the hustle and bustle of the season’s festivities. So how do you stick to your weight loss goals when your routine is topsy turvy?
