I never realized how important a support system is on the journey to a healthier lifestyle. It makes it 10 times easier to hit a training appointment when you know you have friends or coworkers waiting on you. It also makes it a lot easier to stick to a healthy diet when you have someone who is eating similar things as you and likes to prepare meals with you.Long story short is that I’ve had some faltering with my support system lately, and it’s made it more obvious how important that system is! Surrounding ourselves with people who care about us and/or are on the journey to a healthier lifestyle really is a motivator, and when those people fall away, it makes the task at hand more difficult. In addition, the sunshine is a big supporter of mine, so this whole staying dark until late in the morning does not help my case when it comes to getting up early for the gym.
With my system on the fritz I’ve tried to keep reminding myself that I’ve put in so much time and energy, that this would be no time to falter on my own, but sometimes that is not enough. So if your support system falters, what is the key to sticking to your regimen?
